It Was a Lover and His lass
This melody by Thomas Morley was famously used in Shakespeare’s “As You Like It.” The setting features a lively countermelody, written in the Renaissance style.
It comes with separate pedal and lever versions, playable on instruments that go down two octaves below middle C. Advanced; but only minimal lever skill needed.
Duration: ca. 1:30 . The arrangement is set in such a way that repeats to some sections may be added to extend the length, if desired.
Also published as part of the “Renaissance Suite”—recently republished in two versions: 1) pedal or lever harp, with either French horn or cello; 2) pedal or lever harp, with either flute or violin.
