Peter and Alyssa Reit have been performing together in the New York Metropolitan area for over 30 years.  Performances have included benefits for the Paramount Theater and the Westchester Philharmonic, as well as concerts at Grace Church and the Music Conservatory of Westchester.  Their repertoire includes music from the great masters as well as settings of folk tunes and lighter classics.  They recently released a CD of their original transcriptions and arrangements, available HERE.
Alyssa Reit 
Alyssa has worked as an independent performer, composer and arranger in the New York tri-state area since 1975, following her completion of Bachelors and Masters degrees as a Grandjany student at the Juilliard.  As a harpist she has performed with institutions ranging from the world-renowned vocal quartet Anonymous 4, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Metropoltan Opera, and choreographer Martha Clarke, to contemporary music groups and traditional Irish bands. For over 14 years, she served as artistic director, resident composer, and performer for Singing Harp, an acclaimed arts troupe that presented fairy tales, myths, and classic stories in innovative dramatic and musical forms.  She has received commissions from the New York Scandinavian Music Festival for ensemble settings of Andersen fairy tales, and recently two of her arrangements were presented under the auspices of the Philadelphia Orchestra.  Alyssa is on the faculties of Pre-college Division of the Manhattan School of Music, Hunter College, and the Music Conservatory of Westchester.
 



Peter Reit 
Peter is currently in his twenty-eighth year with the Broadway hit “The Phantom of the Opera”. He plays principal horn with the Westchester Philharmonic, Greenwich Symphony, and Scandia Symphony Orchestras, and third horn with the Stamford Symphony. Peter is a founding member of the NY Chamber Brass, a group dedicated to preserving the brass chamber legacy as well as introducing new works to an international audience.  He has been a guest artist in numerous ensembles including the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Ensemble, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, American Symphony Orchestra, New York City Ballet and Opera Orchestras, and the American Ballet Theater. Peter has been featured on several CDs and can be heard on many television and radio commercials, as well as movie soundtracks. He is a very active chamber music player and recitalist, and is on the faculty at SUNY Purchase and Vassar College.
